At least 6 weeks before arrival, visit the CASA website https://www.casa.gov.au/files/form1162pdf and download form 1162. This is the application for an Australian Pilot Licence Number, and will take approximately two weeks to process.

The next step is to complete an Aviation Medical in your home country if practical. A list of CASA Approved Medical Examiners located overseas can be found at https://www.casa.gov.au/licences-and-certification/aviation-medicine/search-medical-examiner-or-eye-examiner. Contact the Doctor and book in for a Class 2 Australian Aviation Medical. You should allow up to four weeks for this to be processed.

All Pilots wishing to undertake solo flight must have an ARN and a Medical Examination. Pilots doing first solo will also need to complete an English Assessment on Arrival in Australia. This test is fairly simple but if you have any concerns contact our Office for Guidance.

As well as their high quality training, Glen Buckley and his team work hard to go the extra mile and make sure that every student’s training is completed as effectively and efficiently as possible. After finishing at MFT, I found a […]
